Shih tzu club of Ghana donates to senior citizens on Dr. Nkrumah’s memorial day

21st September of every year is Kwame Nkrumah’s Memorial Day; a day set aside in Ghana to remember the sacrifices and ideals of Ghana’s first President-Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Members of the ShihTzu Club of Ghana, a not-for-profit group of passionate ShihTzu breeders and fanciers decided to commemorate this year’s Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day by spending their time with senior citizens at the Passion Home Care located at Oyarifa.

The members of the Shih Tzu club together with their dogs spent time and donated to the elderly at the home. The occasion served as an opportunity for the elderly at the home to socialize with the Shih Tzu breed, a dog with excellent temperament bred for companionship for both adults and children.

Speaking at the event, the President of the ShihTzu Club of Ghana, Mr. Emmanuel Asare highlighted the fact that owning a ShihTzu can help reduce blood pressure and eliminate the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The administrator of Passion Home thanked the club, observed the therapeutic benefits of the dogs to the senior citizens, and requested that the club should visit more often with their Shih Tzu since it will do more good to their patients. The Shih Tzu club used the occasion to exercise at Peduase and also socialize their dogs with other members of the community
